What Is SEO & How Does It Work?

what is seo

SEO is a process in which we are optimizing your content simply for search engines. We are making sure that search engine crawlers can make sense of your content and rank it accordingly. For that process, what we need to do is called SEO.

If I’m not going to do SEO, what’s going to happen to my content? Is it going to rank or not?

So basically, you don’t have to do anything. Google and other search engine crawlers act automatically. They are automatically designed to pick up and scan your website so that they can rank it on their search engine. But sometimes, it’s harder for them to know what your content is about. Let me tell you what I mean by that.

So, if your article doesn’t follow proper heading tags and photos do not have a proper description, the search engines are not going to understand. To sum it up, let’s understand it this way: your website is like a document. It has all sorts of data. Search engines are like robots; they don’t understand it. They understand it with the help of metadata. Metadata is a type of data that describes your document for website crawlers, such as headings, descriptions, etcetera.

Is it really hard to do SEO?

It’s not really that complicated to do SEO. With simple on-page optimizations, you are still better off than 80% of the Internet.

What do you mean by ON-Page Optimization?

On-page SEO consists of telling everything about your web page in a simple manner, like adding proper meta tags, using a proper heading structure, and adding meta descriptions for images and videos.

I did not do any SEO. Is my website still ranking on Google?

Yes, even if you don’t do any SEO, your website is still going to rank on Google or any other search engine because of technical SEO. Technical SEO is all sorts of parameters that tell any search engine to scan or crawl your website.

So, if you have, uh, you can check the configuration file of your website, in which you tell the crawler to scan the file. That’s called robots.txt. It does not matter if your website, uh, uh, does not affect rankability, but it affects whether your website is scannable or not. So, if rankability is completely, if you’re unique to the thing, you will still rank on Google.
